Technical overview
Shock absorber thruster is a kind of underground shock absorption and speed up tool. This tool converts the pressure drop of the drill bit nozzle and the downhole motor into drilling pressure, so that the drilling pressure is stable, which is conducive to alleviating the vibration of the drilling tool, extending the life of the drill bit, and improving the mechanical drilling speed. Especially in directional wells, it is beneficial to overcome friction, apply constant drilling pressure, reduce friction between the drill string and the borehole, and improve the effectiveness of drilling pressure transmission during drilling.

How it works
The shock booster is the use of drilling fluid flowing through the lower drilling tool (such as motor, drill bit, etc.) pressure drop on its piston to generate drilling pressure. If the piston area is S and the pressure drop of the lower drilling tool is △P, the drilling pressure generated by the tool is F, F=△P· S。 Therefore, the size of the drilling pressure generated by the tool is only related to the area and pressure drop of the piston, when the piston area is fixed, the pressure drop △P can be changed by adjusting the drilling parameters (such as drill nozzle combination, displacement, etc.) to obtain the appropriate drilling pressure.
Field application
28 wells were applied in China's Dagang, Changqing, Shanxi, Sichuan-Chongqing shale gas, CNOOC and other oil and gas fields, with an average increase of 23,600 feet, an average increase of 22.6%, effectively reducing the wear of drill bits and fatigue damage of drilling tools, improving drilling efficiency and reducing the accident rate of drilling tools.
