Technical overview
The hydraulic oscillator is a downhole friction reduction tool that generates axial vibration under hydraulic action, thereby reducing friction between the drill string and the borehole and improving the effectiveness of drilling pressure transmission during drilling. In directional drilling, the stick-slip phenomenon can be reduced, so as to effectively solve the problem of drill bit pressurization, increase the extension length of horizontal wells and large displacement wells, and improve drilling efficiency.

How it works
Hydraulic oscillators are divided into pulse short sections and oscillation short sections. The drilling fluid generates a shut-off pressure pulse through a pulse sette, and the pressure pulse is transmitted upward, driving the oscillating sliver to produce axial vibration.
Field application
In China's Dagang, North China, Jidong, Yumen, Changqing, Fushan, Tarim, Sichuan-Chongqing shale gas and other oil and gas fields, 507 wells were applied on-site, with an advance of 453,200 meters, an average acceleration of 28.6%, obvious effect of alleviating directional support, and improving directional efficiency.
